A sophisticated cake glaze recipe featuring white wine and ELIA’s olive oil. Perfect for spoiling guests at your next Mediterranean-inspired dinner party.
Recommended Cake: Grecian with Almond & Citrus
INGREDIENTS
2 cups (400g) Powdered Sugar (organic highly recommended)
Tiny pinch of fine Sea Salt
2 TBS (30 ml) Dry White Wine, room temperature
1 tsp (5 ml) of ELIA Olive Oil (reserve from bottle before baking)
PROCESS
1. Combine all ingredients in a small glass mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. If needed, add a little more white wine to achieve your desired consistency.
2. Pour over a completely cooled ELIA Grecian olive oil cake and allow to slowly drizzle down the sides.
*Optional: Once the glaze is just nearly firm, garnish with almonds, apricot slices, rose petals or any Mediterranean-inspired botanical.
