1-2 Persimmons, washed and dried
-
1/2 cup granulated Cane Sugar, organic - divided

-
Slice your persimmons 1/4” thick to expose the star-shaped interior.
-
Gently pat dry with a linen or paper towel.
-
Place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
-
Sprinkle 1 TBS sugar over each slice. With your fingertip, spread the sugar to the edges.
-
Place in the preheated oven for approximately 1-2 minutes, removing when they have reached the color of your preference. Or use your kitchen torch to achieve the caramelization of your choice.
-
Allow to cool and crisp before using.
NOTE: photos shown are a glossy clear color - removed before browning. This results in a less crisp texture, but adds a lovely, syrupy sheen. The beauty of tinkering in the kitchen to create the very magic you love.
